Program Overview
MCODSA invites you and your staff to attend our Annual Spring Training Seminar. We believe that training is essential to maintaining the highest level of integrity and professionalism in our field.

The Association has held Training Seminars throughout Michigan since 1979. This year’s seminar will be at the ConCorde Inn located in Clinton Township, MI.  For overnight accommodations, please  contact the facility directly at 586-493-7300 and mention MCODSA to get your room discount.           

In addition to the training seminar, MCODSA will also be offering our workshops on Thursday, April 11th, 2019.  This is extremely beneficial to those who are new to the civil process field, as it provides basic information as well as some more in depth discussion.  This year’s workshop will cover all aspects of civil process in a relaxed discussion style format.  The workshop is only available to those attendees that preregister for this seminar.  Register today to participate in this great and informative workshop.

  • Requests and Orders to Seize Property by Attorney Richard G. Roosen - Roosen, Varchetti & Olivier, PLLC

For those of you wishing to become Certified through MCODSA,three Certification Exams will be available following the workshop on Thursday, April 11th. The Certified Process Server (CPS) exam tests your knowledge on the laws and procedures necessary to possess a solid foundation of knowledge for serving general civil process. The Certified Eviction Specialist (CES) demonstrates your knowledge of the law and procedures necessary to serve general civil process and orders of eviction. The CES is designed for those court officers and deputies who serve evictions and do not do other types of property seizures. The Certified Court Officer (CCO) exam demonstrates your knowledge of the laws and  procedures necessary to serve general civil process, orders of eviction, and the seizure of personal and real property.  Exams will be administered and collected after the Workshop for any that would like to become certified.

New to MCODSA or want to catch up with some old friends? The MCODSA Hospitality Suite will be Thursday, April 11th, 2019. This is a great opportunity to introduce yourself, meet someone new, or say hi to an old friend, as well as enjoy drinks and refreshments. Limited beer and wine available!  The Hospitality Suite will be from 6:00pm to 11:00pm. Look for Suite details in the hotel lobby for room location.
